I was stunned. I had to make sure I had heard correctly. Orchid’s delicious scent was amplified by her heat and it was probably numbing my brain. However, I doubted it could make me hallucinate. I pressed my forehead against hers, our noses brushing together.
“Are you sure this is what you want?” I whispered.
“Yes,” she said softly. “I’m sure.”
“It’s not just the pain talking or the heat?” I clarified.
She smiled slightly.
“Those are motivating factors,” she chuckled.
She winced as another episode gripped her. I held her tightly until it passed.
“But they’re not the only reasons,” she said.
“Are you sure you don’t hate me for what I did to get you here?” I asked.
