Chapter 42: Distracted Orchid I pulled my hand away from the doorknob and stared in amazement at my own hand. It was not my imagination. My fingernails had lengthened into thick pointed claws. I scratched my other hand out of curiosity. The claws were razor-sharp. My gentle scratching had produced a scrape along my palm that instantly began to bleed. “Ahh,” I groaned in pain. “What’s wrong?” Asked Orion immediately. “I scratched myself,” I said. He grabbed my hand, inspecting my palm. He showed it to me. The scrape was gone already! “It was there a second ago,” I insisted. “Baby, I believe you, trust me,” said Orion.
