Jamie’s POV
High Wizard Connor rushed forwards across the drawbridge and placed a cloak around Evangeline’s shoulders. He wrapped her up in it. She was quite now, no longer humming. Crone Helena and Mother Sylvia were looking at me in what seemed to be awe. I had no one to hide behind so I just stood there awkwardly. Gold meowed happily. Shadow squawked triumphantly and Smog croaked in a congratulatory fashion. I grinned at the familiars. I liked them so much better than the high witches and high wizard. My storm was subsiding. The heavy downpour lightened to a drizzle. The winds slowed. There was no more deafening thunder or blinding lightning. A sense of peace spread across the Magic Realm.
