Chapter 2: Getting Inside
“So what happened to you last night?” Evan asked when I stepped back to let him come inside my apartment.
“Well hello to you too,” I retorted dryly.
“Hi,” he answered sarcastically. He went over and plopped down on the couch, putting his feet up on my table. “So? What happened to you last night?”
I went into the kitchen and grabbed two beers out of the fridge. Handing him one of the cold bottles, I sat down next to him on the couch. For a moment, I sipped my beer and stared at the TV.
“Well? Are you going to tell me or do I have to drag it out of you?”
I smiled. “I could ask you the same thing. You got missing pretty quickly.”
He grinned. “Yeah. Sorry about that. But it was worth it for the info I got from her.”
I lifted an eyebrow. “Yeah? Do tell.”
“Fine
