Although she tried for two hours, Gwen was unable to gain any information or physical sight of Deacon-as she was not blood or marital family. However, the mother of his daughter was allowed at his side, as Gwen grew fearful that she might pull the literal plug from his heart to attain the money he had accumulated through hard work and dedication. At this moment, she only cared to know if he would be alright; she would give up everything she had and would ever have if it meant that she would be at his side at this moment. Instead, she was forced to remain in the waiting room through the entire night-having to come up with a clever way to see him-or wait until he would be released; which could have been days to months. Her opportunity to see him had come at three in the morning of the night
