Lilith howls sadly in my head as my chest hurts from Skylar’s rejection. I look at him through tears, not believing he had just done that. I know we have our differences, but I didn’t want to believe he would do that.
‘Do not accept his rejection,’ Lilith says. ‘It will hurt the pups.’
I barely hear what Carlton is saying but Tyler and Skylar both glare at him. I catch him talking about the deal I made with Victor, but he recites it wrong. I was to accept the twins, and I did. Carlton walks away with Dwight.
“What the hell?” I look at him. “I thought you loved me.”
Skylar looks at me with narrowed eyes. They go from dark to really dark, and I can sense Pollux trying to take control. “I only loved you because of the bond.”
“What about the pups?” I say as I feel pain lower down
