Sixty-eight: Emma Endless

1050 Words

Sixty-eight: Emma Endless             I’d once sought acceptance by my family. I did what they wanted. I’d married Oberon so that they could keep their family fortune and their home. I’d given up my fiancé, and my freedom. If Aphrodite had come to me when I was twenty-one, telling me she was my birth mother, I would have welcomed her with opened arms. But I wasn’t the lost, lonely girl aching for affection anymore. Desperate for approval. I’d spent so much of my time trapped. I wasn’t going to let someone take advantage of me even more. Because that was how I wound up being trapped in the first place.             I let people use my affection for them against me. I wasn’t going to do that anymore. I was the Goddess of Nightmares. It was time that I stopped being scared of everything.
