When the taxi arrived at Lily’s home, Bella saw Tom standing at the door.
Tom walked towards them but Lily and Bella ignored him completely.
Bella helped Lily onto the bed. Even that was exhausting for Lily and she felt generally terrible. Not wanting to make Bella worry, Lily encouraged her to leave.
“You can leave now, Bella. You just took over the business. There must be a lot of work to do. Go!”
“No, I have to look after you,” Bella protested.
Lily almost felt she couldn’t bear the pain anymore. With a serious, angry look, she uttered, “I want to be alone. Please.”
Feeling her anger, Bella stood up to go. It was true she had been away for a long time and work was very busy. She looked at Lily and said softly, “Take care of yourself. I will be back tomorrow.”
Lily had no strength
