After her phone call with James, Bella sat on the floor hugging her knees. Her heart was broken and there was nothing that could fix it.
Immersed in her sadness, Bella heard someone knocking at the door. She stood up and walked to the door to see who was there.
“Bella, open the door!” James shouted through the letterbox.
Bella stopped and sat down in the hallway.
“Bella, I know you are in there. Open the door!” James would not give up easily.
Bella bit her lip and tried to keep quiet.
James begged, “Bella, open the door. Please, we can talk about it. I am sorry about what happened yesterday.”
However, Bella was determined to ignore him.
James continued calling her through the door for several minutes, before he eventually gave up and walked away.
James was distraught and angry.
