After the weeding, Bella refused Lily’s offer to take her back home. After all, today was Lily’s big day.
Bella said goodbye and left the hotel. As she waited for a taxi, Bella took off her high heels. She wasn’t used to wearing them and her feet were painful and swollen.
Crouching down to check her feet, Bella didn’t see the bicycle heading straight towards her.
The cyclist was unable to brake in time and he collided with Bella at high speed.
“Ouch!” Bella was knocked to the ground.
“Are you okay?” the bicycle owner came running over to her in a worry.
Seeing this, James came over at once from where he’d been watching in the dark. He pulled the man aside and helped Bella up. “Bella, are you OK?” James asked nervously.
Despite the sharp pain in her ankle, Bella pushed him away.
