James took the paper and read it slowly. For a while he was stuck on repeat, reading and re-reading the report.
“Bella, you’re…I…” he started in a trembling voice.
It was so unbelievable that he didn’t know what to say.
Bella was amused by his reaction. She pretended to be serious and said, “Congratulations Mr. Parker, you’re going to be a daddy!”
As if something had suddenly clicked inside him, James lifted Bella up in his arms. He shouted joyfully, “I’m going to be a daddy! I’m going to be a daddy!”
Bella started to feel dizzy after James spun her around a few times. She patted James gently and said, “Put me down. I’m feeling woozy now.”
James put her down at once and asked with concern, “Are you OK? I’m so sorry, what was I thinking?”
Bella gave him an annoyed look.
