Samantha responded, but she immediately concealed her emotions for fear he might realize how much she had missed him. Killan’s appearance was something she had not expected, yet she still waited for him to come closer. Samantha met his gaze as he sauntered toward her. She could not help but feel giddy under the way he looked at her. She pinched herself hard just to keep her mind focused, though her eyes never left his. They were both oblivious to their surroundings, already lost in each other’s stare.
“I think we better go now,” Rida said to Eudora with a knowing smile as Killan was only a few steps away.
“Yeah, right!” Eudora caught on quickly. She nudged Samantha before she and Rida headed toward the other car. “We’ll get going now, Sam. See you tomorrow.”
