After the heart-to-heart talk with Jaden, Clarissa was feeling much lighter, as if a huge burden was lifted off her shoulders. It was nice to let it all out. It was also nice to have someone agree with her and yet did not push her to leave. Instead, Jaden had merely listened sympathetically and agreeing with her on what a douche Max was. He also seemed to understand why she had decided to stay and marry Max. Even she herself didn’t really understand why she did what she did.
She had vented to Jane too but she kept some of the details from her friend, not wanting her friend to judge Max too harshly. Her friend couldn’t understand why she wanted to continue living with Max and when she told Jane that she was marrying him, her friend had told her to reconsider it a few times.
