The next week was up and down. Damien had to go back to school, but he came back to the hospital every night. I'd apologized profusely for making him miss the holidays, but him and April both assured me that he was never one to really celebrate anyways.
Officers Hannigan and Bell came to see me the day after I woke up, and I had both Nicole and Doctor Cole, as well as April, in the room while I gave my statement. I broke down twice, thankful that they'd come while Damien wasn't here.
