"I am so sorry you had to deal with that," Leah squeezed my hand in comfort. "Family betrayal is never easy to deal with. I don't care what anyone says, being blood related doesn't mean you have to 'be the bigger person', nor does it mean you have to forgive the ones that betrayed you."
Real emotion radiated from her voice as she made that statement. "I never forgave my parents, especially my father, for trying to force me to marry Luca Garabaldi. My father made me feel like I was nothing more than a pawn to be used to further family interests. My mother was no better.
