Grandpa was talking to me, cooing and making happy faces at the baby in his arms as he spoke, his tone light and carefree, for the baby's sake, despite the serious subject.
"Jimmy, he said will wait till both you and Jessica are in the room. This was going to blow her mind, and I have a feeling it was going to blow ours, too. I don't want Vicky or Franco there when the news he has is revealed. It was life-changing."
"Life-changing? In what way?" I was concerned. What had Jimmy found out that would change Jessica's life?
"Have no clue, he didn't want to tell me what it was about, worried I would slip up and reveal it."
"Vicky and Franco won't be at our place tonight. Vicky wanted to go out, have a nice meal, and some slow dancing."
