Jessica helped me navigate a complex web of foreign emotions as we discussed the fact that I had a new dad.
We went through all the pros and cons, while I threw out every negative thought I could think of, and she countered with a positive.
We sat talking, with me yelling and getting up to pace in frustration, then sitting and hugging, and pacing again. We covered a lot of emotional baggage, but in the end, we came out on top, feeling much better, my head ready to face this new dad and find out about my mother. Who had she raised, thinking it was her son?
Having her by my side, helping me through it, only causes me to love this woman even more.
