"Don't eat too fast, you'll get a tummy ache." I warned the little boy perched on my lap.
He couldn't have been more than two or three. The poor thing reeked of muck and grime and I could count most of his ribs through his tattered shirt. My heart ached for him, and for everyone else gathered at this table in a frenzied hunger.
Hunter amazed me today, for a number of reasons. Right now, I was more curious about whatever made him able to summon an entire village. The green glow in his eyes, around his hands. He was... breathtaking. I could hardly wait to ask him about it. I hope he will tell me. We seemed to be on better ground lately. Hopefully, this will be part of our 'later' conversation.
