"You sure you are okay?" Dahlia asked during our drive back to her home.
"I'm fine." I nodded, though I felt anything but.
"It's okay not to be okay." My mate gently reminded me. I put my blinker on, about to get off the through way when she stopped me. "No, take me to Kelly's palace. I don't want to be far from you."
"Alright." I agreed, my brows creasing in concern. The way she said it made me think something was wrong. But then it dawned upon me. "Are you going into heat soon?"
She'd barely let go of me all day, despite what I’d done the night before. The guilt sat heavy in my chest. This... need in her felt out of place - until I remembered.
"It's a cycle thing," I added quickly, the thought coming together. "Every few months, usually comes with some... clinginess."
