"Thank you." Dahlia said, swooping in and giving me a hug the moment I arrived back in camp. Her arms warped around my middle, her head resting on my chest. "You have no idea how much that meant to me."
"Oh...ugh, your welcome." I said, clearing my throat.
What did I do to merit such a warm hug?
"The chocolate," Hugo said, reminding me and filling me in on how exactly he gave Dahlia the candy.
While he and Dahlia spent their time together, I let myself sink deep within my head, into a restful state of sleep, giving them as much privacy as possible. It was a sacrifice he often made for me, and one that I would now make for him.
