Hunched down - narrowly hidden behind a pillar - heart hammering, I watched as Seraphina and Nythralis went head-to-head. Her fangs were barred to him, venom dripping from the elongated teeth. Nythralis looked completely unruffled by her, it was almost comical.
Dahlia, on the other hand, was fighting tooth and nail to escape Seraphina's jet-black coils. Though her attention was on Nythralis, Seraphina was still keenly aware of Dahlia's movements, her tail rattling in warning when Dahlia attempted to rip off her scales. When she didn't stop, her coils tightened, making Dahlia pause to catch her breath.
Seraphina would suffocate her before I even had a chance if she wasn't careful. I had to do something, and fast.
