The HEAT was that time of the year; some wolves were waiting for it eagerly, but some were anxious every time the period took place.
It occurred once or twice per year and was felt by the unmated female. It was also when the female wolves gave off a certain scent that was so physically arousing for their male MATES.
But–there was more…
HEAT period was also a period when male wolves should CLAIM their mates. Claiming comes in two processes, the MARKING in which they bite the female counterpart, and she did the same, accepting that they were MATES. Then–the MATING, in which they should physically perform the s****l act.
When the MATING PROCESS was complete, it was called a MATE BOND–an otherworldly tie not only bestowed by men and wolves but by a higher influence–the moon G
