CHAPTER 31
It did not get past Brandon the worries in her mind the moment he saw Ava in the garden. Although the cause and incident before his arrival were unclear, he sensed that it had something to do with Carolina; the scent of the she-wolf still lingered in the air.
“Hey, beautiful,” he kissed Ava’s soft lips, fervently expressing how much he missed her during his absence, to which she responded with the same passion.
Then– he looked into her eyes. The anxiousness he felt earlier was wholly replaced. She stared at him with wide, happy eyes; they zeroed in on him instantly. He could lose himself in the beauty of her amber eyes.
“How’s your day?” Ava asked as she laced her arms around his neck.
“Not as great as when I have you with me, but it's all right, just the same,” he held
