“And he will live.”
Ava was like shut by a gun when she heard those words. Just thinking of not seeing Brandon again was already killing her. What more if he would vanish without a trace in her life for good?
She wouldn’t have any of it, but she couldn’t let the man in front of her know what was in her mind.
In fairness, Kevin was scolding himself internally; Ava read him. His mind was so busy trying to stop himself from confining her in his arms. He wanted her so much, which was clearly expressed in his mind.
Ava couldn’t read anything different from what he was saying and what was in his thoughts. She felt his deep longing, sadness, and desire to take her back into his life and make her his own again.
