“Ava, I don’t feel good about this–” Kiara whispered while sipping her coffee.
Ava’s heart pounded in her chest when she heard what Kiara muttered.
She felt the same way.
Although it was hard to picture Kevin as a villain in any story, Ava couldn’t silence her mind and force it to think otherwise. The words Brandon said about Kevin being after her still vivid in her mind. She couldn't fathom the possibility if there were truth in it.
She was married–
Marriage was sacred to their kind, and no one could separate mates unless they lost them due to death during the war. And even without that rule on marriage, she couldn’t picture the future without her mate. She couldn't imagine falling in love with another man.
