"This is quite an unexpected shock." I turned to Demarco and said while he laced our fingers together, walking over to the jeep he had been given as a birthday present from his parents.
"I know, but at least you get a taste of happiness." He smiled, opening the door before helping me up the step of the vehicle.
He got in, reached for my hand, interlocking out fingers as he brought my hand to his lips while the radio played a lover's tune. "You look stunning." He whispered, his breath fanning the back of my palm as he placed a kiss there.
Overwhelmed with emotions that I couldn't quite put into words, I looked at him and just smiled. He returned the gesture before staring the engine and we drove off while he hummed along softly, occasionally stealing a glance at me and kissing my hand.
