She's A True Friend

Allison's POV *Sigh* I glanced over at Raylee sitting in the passenger side as I drove to Kelly's. This child of mine. *sigh* "Mom, was it wrong that I sought justice?" Her question took me of guard as she twisted in her seat to face me, her voice so innocent and pure. Hmm, how do I really answer this? If I say Yes, then I'm telling her she doesn't have to stand up for others, for herself.... But if I say No, then I'm condoning her behavior. Ugh! How am I able to advice a whole colony but find it so difficult when it comes to my own daughter. Now, I really wish Ryder was here, he is so much better at this than I am. I felt caught between a rock and a hard place. "Well, Raylee...." I began, thinking cautiously about my choice of words, knowing that with her, she was like the Court Of Law System, 'anything I say (or do) can and will be used against me', if I'm not careful. "Justice is good, but for now, let's just leave it to the authorities, ok?" There was silence. I guess that answer was able to satisfy, even if it was just for now, and I was contented with that. "Aunt Kelly!" Raylee shouted out, just as we pulled up to her house. She was standing outside, a big broad smile on her face, like she was expecting us. Raylee quickly jumped out, running up to her, even before I could get out of the car. "How's Klaus?" I asked as I drew nearer. She glanced up from Raylee to me. "He's finally resting." she sighed. I knew it must be so hard on her. Which parent is really able to stomach their children being in pain? I walked over to her, pulling her into a bear hug. I barely glanced over her shoulder in time to see Raylee disappearing inside. "He's sleeping, Raylee!" "I know, mom." "Then don't wake him." "I won't.... But if you keep shouting like that, then you will." I sighed as I pulled back to looked at Kelly. "Does it get any easier the older they get?" Kelly chuckled as she led the way through the house and out to the famous backyard. I smiled as we walked over to the garden bench, chatting and catching up like old friends who haven't seen each other in a while, even thought I'd seen her just a few days ago. "So how are thing with you and Ryan?" I continued as we sat. Her eyes lit up, the excitement triggering her strong Caribbean accent, that seemed unfading even after more than a decade of being here. "We good..." She paused as if reliving a memory, her lips breaking into an even broader smile. "Nah, we great." Her beaming expression was so contagious that I found myself grinning from ear to ear while listening, I knew that look in her eyes. "So, Klaus can be expecting another sibling soon." I teased. "Girllll, condom ain't invented fuh nain. De only ting we gine be getting soon is anada bed, cuz-." "Ok ok." I cut her off, trying to muffle my laughter. "I'm convinced that Brianna spent her past life as a rabbit." After Kelly had gotten back her wolf, it was as if she was constantly in heat and Dillion, Ryan's wolf, seemed to love each second of it. I chuckled, even after many years, something never change. Soon, the scorching sun peaked above the clouds. "Nah, nah nah. I ain't tryina be no sunbeam!" Kelly exclaimed, standing up. "Dis sun hot, hot, hot. I can't tek dat. I gine in." I couldn't help but laugh as I followed Kelly back inside. Leaving me in the living room, Kelly made her way into to the kitchen. "Thirsty?" She called out. "Yeah, a nice cold glass of water would be fine, thanks." "...Sure you don't want something a little stronger?" She asked, walking out with a bottle of Brother's Bond Bourbon. "Tempting." I chuckled, taking the glass of water from her. She then placed an extra empty glass on the table, as she poured herself a glass of whiskey. For a brief moment, only the ASMR of the liquid flowing into the glass pervaded the silence. "Wait, I just realized something," Kelly began, taking a seat next to me "How comes Lee is with you instead of at school?" The events of the morning, unreeled like a film in my mind. "On second thought, pour me a glass too." Kelly reached for the empty glass from the table. "I knew this would come in handy." She poured me a glass, then handed it to me. "Alright, I know I am in for a story time." "Well, I was actually leaving work to visit you-" "Yes I know, Ryder called." "Then Raylee's teacher called me, so I had to go and pick her up from the principal's office." Kelly instantly sat up. "Who troubled my Lee?" "Some kid bullied a student and Justice Lee decided to stepped in." "Haha, like mother, like daughter." Kelly remarked, relaxing a bit while taking a sip of her whiskey. "No, she's not like me at all because I probably would have gone and complained the teacher instead of breaking someone's fingers. Kelly seemed to find humor is my speech. "Well, serves him right, cause I know my Lee wouldn't do anything to anyone who didn't deserve it." I shook my head, pouring myself another glass. "... Wait, talking about Raylee, where is she?" I stood up, resting my glass on the table. "Knowing that girl, she might be up to some mischief" I glanced over at Kelly. "She's certainly being way too quiet." Kelly silently chuckled as she followed close behind me to Klaus' room. I slowly turned the knob, been careful not to keep too much noise, just incase Klaus was still asleep. The door opened. I paused. "What's it?" Kelly whispered, peeping around me to see to object of my attention. "Aww." Kelly smiled. "Aren't they just so cute together?" Indeed. It was an aww moment. Raylee laid nestled in Klaus' arm as the two of them slept soundly. "She really loves her big brother." Kelly smiled.
