Klaus extended his hand and I hastily took it as we navigated through the hall that had now become more crowded due to the time that had passed. No doubt, the Darkness was in hot pursuit of us, because no matter the turn or direction Klaus took us, the amulet burnt into my skin, a whisper of warning on constant repeat, though somehow, it won't tell me just who exactly I was running from. Finally, Klaus pulled me off the straight course and into a dark alley sandwiched between two buildings.
