"I know you are in there!" Morgan raised her voice, and Elene was ready to drop dead from the embarrassment.
"Is this—" Forrest pointed at the door.
"Morgan, I'll see you later!" Elene shouted, feeling her cheeks flush.
"Yeah, sure!" The girl's tone was laced with sarcasm. "Just like you promised the last two times and then ABANDONED me!"
Elene felt a wave of guilt washing over her. The kid was not wrong, evenalthough if she had had a perfect excuse. "Morgan, I didn't abandon you. It's a complicated situation. Let's discuss this—"
"Ready or not, here I come!" the girl yelled, thrusting the bathroom doors open with her foot. Elene scarcely managed to pivot on top of Forrest, who enveloped her tightly in his arms, attempting to provide her with some semblance of protection.
