Chapter 40: Going Down? Sariah “It’s me! It’s me! Sir Edmund, Your Majesty,” cried Edmund in alarm, grasping me by my upper arms and spinning me around to face him. I clutched my hand to my chest. My heart was racing and my breathing was already ragged. “I heard a weird noise                                                 “What sort of noise?” Asked Edmund, frowning, his eyes filled with concern. “A crunching or maybe a crackling,” I said. “Like this,” he said, moving forward and slowly stepping on a dry leaf on the ground. I realised there were many crisp dry leaves on the garden floor that would crunch underfoot. I nodded, feeling incredibly silly. In my defence, there were at least two people in this castle who wanted me dead and that would make just about anyone jumpy. Edmund
