Chapter 50: A Doll’s Disappearance Sariah I woke up alone. I was lying in a small bed with spotless white bedding. I felt a lancing pain in one of my hands. Ouch. I looked at that hand. There was an IV cannula in it. I followed the IV line with my eyes. The bag of drips read ‘morphine added’. It had been scribbled onto the bag of saline with a red marker along with the dose and time given. I frowned at the messy handwriting. I was not one to nitpick, but the way in which the words had been scrawled gave them a dripping effect, making them look like they had been written in blood. The atmosphere was tense.
