Owen gave me two weeks off work. If things went according to plan, I would have been in Italy with the man I love. I don't know what is worse, the fact that he hasn't answered my phone in a week, or that he decided to leave the country altogether.
The ironic thing is that I asked for time off so that I could leave with him. When he first asked me to go with him, I wasn't even sure that I wanted to meet his parents. That is a huge deal, and I can't pretend otherwise.
Then I really thought about it, and I realized that I was all scared because deep down inside, I knew what it meant. First, I meet the parents, then we move in together, and soon, we get married.
