Chapter Two

(Skye’s point of view)
“Just take your seat Dan” Ms Miles says point to the chair next to me, the boy whose name is Dan walked towards the desk in front of me. I could not believe he was going to sit next to me, I looked around and I could see that every girl in this classroom thought I was lucky. In a way yes, I was because this God walking towards me was going to next to me for the next hour. But I was also not lucky because if looks could kill I would be six feet underground. Dan did not look at me while he sat down in the seat, for some reason this made me sad but I could not understand why. I do not know this boy, why would I be sad for him not looking at me, “ok, everyone get your books our and it is time to learn about history” Ms Miles says with a smile. I have a feeling that I am going to like her, if she were not my teacher, I would even say that I could see me and her being friends. I look around to see where everyone is getting their books from, I see that they are getting them from their bags. I put my hand up embarrassed that I have to do this on my first day, “Yes, Skye” Ms Miles says when she sees my hand is raised. “Erm, I was not given a book” I say and I feel my cheeks getting red when I hear people laughing, I do not understand why they would fine it funny. “Dan, share your book with Skye” she says without looking at the both of us. I hear Dan sigh as he pushes his book towards me, “thank you” I say as I reach for the book. I must have reached too far because my hand touches his. As soon as our hands touch, I feel an electric current run through my whole body, Dan must have felt the same because he looked at me like he wanted to eat me or something. I could not stop looking at him, for a second, I thought I saw his green eyes turn black but. But when I looked at his eyes again, I can see that they are the green I saw before, “is everything ok?” Ms Miles ask while looking at the both of us. “Erm” is all I can say before Dan interrupts me, “it’s fine” Dan says in a deeper voice, they both look at each other for a couple of seconds, in a way that looks like they are talking to each other. After a while they both nod at each other but I see most of the other students nod too, I found it weird but maybe they were not nodding at each other but having conversations that I cannot hear. The rest of the class goes without any trouble Dan does not look at me or looks at the book we are sharing, it looks like he has been moving away from me little by little throughout with the whole call. Once the bell rang Dan stood up and walked out of the classroom without looking back. I just sat there for a couple of seconds before standing up myself, as I walk out of the room Ms Miles stops me. “I will make sure that you have a book for yourself tomorrow” she says while smiling at me, “thank you” I reply while walking out of the room. As I get out of the room, I hear someone almost shouting, “where were you last night?” I hear someone growl. I did not want to get close to whatever is happening but I had to go that way to get to my next class. “I do not have to tell you anything, remember your place” I hear a deep voice say and I know straight away that it is Dan. I could not understand what the person is doing that could make them so angry, I tried to make myself invisible so that I would not bring attention to myself. “My place is by your side and you know that babe” the person says while trying to sound sexy but it does everything but that. I knew at this point that the person talking to Dan is a woman, for some reason when I thought about Dan being with another woman it deeply hurt me. I could not understand why it hurt me when I have only just meet Dan and I have nothing to do with him or do I even know him. ‘This place is messing with me’ I think to myself as I get closer to the two people, just as I am about the pass the woman someone bumps into me, knocking me into the woman I was trying to pass. As I hit the woman, I tried to steady myself so that I do not hurt her. Before I can steady myself, the woman pushes me over and starts to hit me, “f*****g stupid human” the woman screams while hitting me. I tried to get up but the woman pushes me down, I could not understand why she called me human, aren’t we all humans? I look up and I can see that it is the woman that had a go at me earlier for parking in her spot. I could not get up, for some reason this woman is stronger than she looks, I pulled my arms up to protect myself as she starts to grab my head and smack it into the ground. As my head hit the ground black spots start to form in front of my eyes, I knew soon I was going to pass out. “GET OFF HER” I hear someone growl, this voice would put the fear of God in anyone, the second the woman hears this she stops her fists and turns around. “Why do you care about this human?” she asks while laughing, I hear a growl and I could not help but wonder if I wolf is close by. That would be weird, I try to look around but my vision has started to blur and I know I am going to pass out at any minute now. I feel someone pick me up off the ground, “do not worry Skye, I have you and I will protect you” I hear someone say before the darkness consumes me.
