Lia collected herself off of the wooden floor of her apartment as she fell a deep ache form in her stomach from where she was hit by Dwayne’s polished shoe. The force he used was something better fit for a ball than a human but with the anger he felt for her, he believed that he was justified. As she gasped for breath as the wind was knocked from her, she began to heave as a burning sensation rose in her throat as if she was going to vomit. She waited for this, but found him to hit her again until she hit the floor. She understood now that he wanted her to stay down.
