Chapter 15
I was happy that nana Ruby and Starla travelled with us. It helped to distract me from my overactive thoughts and worries. It was only when we landed, and I saw the cars that panic set in again. I had no idea how many of them were here to meet us and what they would think of me.
Before I could think of it too much, I was already hugged within an inch of my life by Rayne. She is smaller than me, which is saying something but only by an inch or so. What she lacks in size, she definitely makes up in strength and energy.
She had the warmth of a mother, and I could feel it in her hug and her teasing towards Brandon and Coda. Brandon’s dad was also lovely with me and helped to put me at ease. It helped to know that Brandon’s parents both welcomed me with open arms.
