With a racing heart, I moved toward the staircase, muttering briefly to Eli. “I need to fix this.” Causing him to look up and the moment he saw Livvy, his face dropped. He clearly had no idea she had been sitting there either. Livvy stood and walked away. Though this time she did not walk to my room. She walked to the guest room she had previously stayed in.
