CHAPTER FORTY-THREE CLARK ENDLESS Torches flickered on, revealing that we were now in a large cavern somewhere in underneath the tower. The Knights were coming, Nia had said, and she was right. There, in front of us, were the skeletons of the Knights of the Round Table. I put the backpack full of weapons down on the ground and began rummaging through it. “Emma?” I said. “Y-yes,” she was frozen still, watching in horror as the skeletons surrounded the sword of Excalibur. “Do you remember, that summer before you went to college, when I trained you?” I asked. Emma blushed. “Yes, I remember. You spent the whole summer shirtless, despite my insistence that you put one on.” I grinned. “It was hot out, and we built up a sweat.
