They stayed like that for a few more minutes. The room stilled and only their breathing could be heard. His breath was ragged and rough earlier but had soon calmed down as seconds passed. Princess Loaisa was sure it wasn’t what she had said in her mind. She had no idea it reached him either, and she couldn’t imagine how it would have been if she did say it like that. Rydan didn’t try to hide his fear, or maybe he didn’t think about hiding it. It simply slipped as he heard the words. Sighing, Princess Loaisa gently tapped on his back. His heavy breath touched the skin on her shoulder. “Are you okay?” she asked. “It’s really not what I meant… I was just; I don’t know, I’m sorry… Are you okay now?” Rydan slowly pulled away from her.
