Chapter 5 A low cello started out somewhere in a dream about tiny cars with giant blackbird wings swooping over a field of baked goods—diving like raptors to clutch giant blueberries. A pair of violins joined the flight and Cal came fully awake in time for a viola to join in and for the MINI Cooper to steal the last berry before his Vette could get there, leaving nothing but a stray sunflower seed behind. The cars were gone, but the music continued—upbeat, energetic. Cal didn’t know this one. Didn’t recall putting it on his playlist.
