*Nicolina’s POV*
I close my eyes and pray that Kosta’s heart keeps working, and I hold him tightly. Then I feel the rise and fall of his chest. I reach over and hit the call button. I need a doctor, but I am unwilling to leave Kosta alone, so I frantically press the button until the nurse arrives.
She looks at me and frowns. “I’m sorry, Nicolina, we can’t do anything more for him,” she says as she begins to switch the monitors off “wait and watch” I move so she has a clear view of his chest, and when she runs out of the room and comes back with other nurses and doctors my hope rises it’s not all in my head Kosta is breathing they place oxygen tubes in his nose and then check him for his vitals I attempt to sit up and move out of the way.
