Elise POV
I smile as I look around at my family. They arrived an hour after the show started. Briar and Derek are relationship goals. I can't tell you how many women tonight have tried to approach him, but he shoots them down hard. Don't get me wrong, Briar is a beautiful woman, but I'm shocked it seems like he doesn't even know anyone else exists. He only has eyes for his wife.
I love Morris and would never want another man but I notice good-looking men just like he notices women. The thought brings my thoughts to the b**ch who, thankfully, has kept her distance from us. My eyes move from them to Dante, who is standing near the bar. He is acting strangely tonight, and I wonder if something happened between him and Nicole. They haven't been dating long, but he seemed pretty smitten with her. I make a mental note to corner him at some point.
Dennis, who is standing with his brother, is his normal flirty self. As much as he flirts, I've never seen him with a steady girl. I wonder why that is. I want him to find his person and be happy. I love these people. They may not be my blood, but they are my family. I look at Briar who is looking at another one of my abstract pieces even though she has bought three already.
"Briar, I'm heading to the bathroom." "Good, I need to go too. Derek, have them add this one with the others we've purchased, please" she says, giving him a quick kiss. "Briar, you don't have to," I start to say but she cuts me off.
"I'm not buying them because you're the artist Elise. I really love the pieces and I want them" she says. I give her a quick hug, and we head toward the bathroom. As we step into the hallway, the door to the men's room opens, and I stop in my tracks. When Loreli spots me she makes a motion as if she is wiping her mouth. I swear I never understood the term. My blood is boiling until this moment. It takes all my control not to wipe the smug smile off her face.
"Don't worry Elise, I'm sure he will still be able to f**k you if he just uses the vision of me on my knees with his c**k down my throat, although don't get upset if he moans my name," she says. I don't even have time to think about the consequences when my body reacts. I lunge swinging my fist as hard as I can, expecting to feel the satisfying crunch of her nose under my fist, but all I feel is air.
A strong arm around my waist pulls me back against a hard chest. I fight to free myself, but the arm stays firmly in place. My eyes meet Morris's, and he looks as angry as I feel. Do I trust that this man didn't just betray me in the bathroom of my show? The answer is yes, I trust him. Some of the anger seems to fade, but I still want to beat her a**.
Morris maneuvers around her and pulls me away from whoever is holding me. "Thank you, Dante" he says. "No problem brother. You might want to deal with whoever this crazy b**ch is before your little wife gives her exactly what she deserves," Dante says, and I can't help but smile. "Who are you calling a b**ch? I'm Morris's girlfriend" Loreli says. She isn't even trying to hide her bulls*t this time.
I'm just about to call her every filthy name I can think of when Morris tightens his hold on me. "Let me make this perfectly clear to everyone in this room." My heart sinks when I realize that this is happening in front of the few patrons that hadn't left. When I look around, I only see Benton left. He winks at me and I couldn't be more grateful that he cleared the room.
"You are nothing to me. You have never been nor will you ever be my girlfriend. I love my wife and only my wife. Hell you aren't even my employee after tonight. The next time you decide to put on a little show, I will involve my lawyers since you are trying to slander my character. I'm not sure if you have been misinformed by bad sources" he says as he turns to look at the two women who arrived with Loreli. I notice them shrink back looking like they wish they were anywhere but here.
"I am nothing like my father. I will never betray my wife, especially for a snake like you. Stay away from me and stay away from Elise. Benton, can you remove these women, so I can finish celebrating the amazing woman in my arms." "Of course" he says from behind us. He moves to stand next to Loreli. As he ushers her toward the door, she turns back and stares at me.
"This isn't over b**ch. You aren't worthy of having a man like Morris by your side. He'll realize that and your frumpy a** will be left with nothing. Don't worry though, I'll take good care of your daughter," she says. I try to pull out of Morris's arms, but he holds me firmly in place. I swear I'm going to kill this b**ch before everything is said and done.
Loreli POV
As soon as we are in the car, Melissa turns toward me anger clearly written all over her face. "What the f**k were you thinking? Now you have no chance of getting him to slip up. You're f**king useless to us" she says. "I had to do something extreme. Nothing else is working. I thought for sure that b**ch would believe I blew him in the bathroom. How was I supposed to know she would actually believe Morris?"
"Well your plan didn't work out, and we are no closer to destroying that little pr*ck" Jules says. "Melissa is still at the company. We will just have to come up with a way to get me close to him again. Isn't the winter mixer coming up." Melissa shoots daggers at me. "Do you really think I can just bring you with me? We will both be thrown out. I am not losing my job over this, Jules," she says.
"You will do whatever it takes Melissa. Remember you owe me. If it weren't for me, you'd be dead right now," Jules says. I have no idea what the hell Jules has over Melissa, but it seems to be enough to have Melissa backing down. "Loreli, you should have talked to me before making such an extreme move. Now I'm going to have to come up with a new plan to f**k up that little pr*cks life," Jules says.
"You never did tell me why you hate Morris so much. He is a really nice guy and he is hot as f**k. I know if he had one taste of me he wouldn't look twice at his pathetic little wife." "I've never told you because its none of your f**king business. We are not friends, Loreli. The only reason you are even involved is because your cousin said you were looking to bag a rich man and you're pretty. I just wish you were smarter because you have made everything much harder," Jules says.
I lean back in my seat, not liking her attitude. "Maybe I should just let you guys handle it since I'm so stupid." Something flashes in her eyes and I swallow. "You are in this Loreli. You will do as you're told, or you won't like the consequences. Do you understand me?" "Yes, fine, just tell me what you want me to do."
I didn't realize we were already at my place until I felt the car come to stop. "Don't do anything until you hear from me. Also, make sure your little boy toy knows we may need his services again," Jules says. "Fine, but what am I supposed to do for money now that Morris fired me?" "That's on you, little girl. You went rogue and cost yourself the f**king job that was helping us get you close to Morris McNair," Jules says.
I want to tell her she is f**king b**ch but something about her look from earlier has me thinking twice about it. I make my way onto my porch, and before I even reach for my keys, the door opens. Evan is eyeing me suspiciously. "Did you finally f**k him tonight," he asks, his fists at his side. I smile seductively as I step toward him. "Evan, you are the only man I love. I told you I would only do that if I absolutely had to, and I haven't."
His shoulders sag and a very small part of me feels bad for leading him on. We've been together for two years, but he isn't going anywhere. He is a fitness trainer with an amazing body, but he'll never be rich. He won't ever be able to give me the life that I deserve.
He reaches out, pulling me against his body firmly. "You belong to me Loreli. I know you are doing this for us, but remember who you belong to or next time I won't just hit that pr*ck once" he says. I run my hand down his chest. "I remember exactly who I belong to. I promise you that once I can blackmail this rich pr*ck we will have everything we ever wanted. I love you Evan, only you." I pull his head down for a kiss, but in my mind it's Morris's lips against mine. I don't care what it takes, he will be mine.
