Pumasok na sa loob ng kastilyo si Margaux at nagulat siya nang nadatnan niya si Genesis na nakatayo sa entrada. Akmang lalampasan niya si Genesis nang hawakan siya nito sa kaniyang kamay upang pigilan. “Narinig ko ang lahat.” Ito ang unang sinabi ni Genesis dahilan upang matigilan si Margaux. “Si Veyrondale ang may pakana ng lahat.”

Tumango naman si Margaux.

“May ideya rin ako sa kasinungalingang sinabi mo kay Zendaya, dahil isa ako mismo sa mga saksi ng katotohanan. Noong kinuwento niya sa akin ang kinuwento mo tungkol sa kaniyang ina, na nabuhay siya ngunit bilang sanggol muli at siya ay nilagay ng hari sa bahay-ampunan at kinupkop ng mga maharlika... Alam kong mali na. Bakit ka nagsinungaling kay Zendaya?”

“Because it is her guilt of not being able to save her mother which is holding her back from being able to control and contain it. She fears her power and that is why she is controlled by it.” Sagot naman ni Margaux, “at alam mo iyan dahil nasa loob ka ni Zendaya at konektado ang inyong isip.” Dagdag nito. “I did it to save her from losing control once more.”

Pinikit ni Genesis ang kaniyang mga mata at muling naalala ang gabi kung saan ginahasa at pinatay ang ina ni Zendaya sa harap mismo ng kaniyang mga mata. Iyon din ang gabing nabuhay ang kaniyang kapangyarihan at nagamit niya ito upang mawala sa mundo ang apat na mga mamamatay-tao. Totoong nabuhay muli ang ina ni Zendaya at naging sanggol ito, ngunit isang buwan ang lumipas at namatay din agad ito.

Genesis and Margaux knows that you can only temporarily bring the dead back to life and if Zendaya finds out about it, not only that it will hurt her that her mother is no longer alive, she may lose control again. And since Shinigami has died and was revived, Genesis and Margaux know that the man has only a month to live before dying again.

Zendaya’s power may be beyond limit, but it does not change the fact that it has limits. She can turn her fantasies into reality, but she can never alter reality, especially the laws of nature that keeps everything balanced.

“Tama ang sinabi ni Veyrondale sa iyo, malalaman din agad ni Zendaya ang katotohanan kapag mawala sa mundo si Shinigami.”

Margaux was already frustrated, she sighed. “I just don’t want her to blame herself this time, because it is her power that caused Shinigami to die in the first place. I should have acted sooner too, rather than wait for the opportunity to guide her.” Sinisisi na ni Margaux ang kaniyang sarili.

“Kahit anong gawin mo, wala ka nang magagawa kahit magsisi ka pa. Right now, we should be thinking our next move towards Zendaya. I can no longer alter her memory because her mind has matured already, unlike when she was young, and I have no plans to do so anymore because she deserves the truth.”

“I know... Sasabihin ko rin ang totoo kay Zendaya, pero hindi ko alam kung kailan. Hahanap ako ng tamang tiyempo.”

Tumango naman si Genesis. “So, tell me the truth, Margaux, who are you truly? How do you know that man who calls himself Veyrondale?

Ngumiti si Margaux, “I am the Gate Keeper of the Realms. When God and Arthur Nightingale made a deal about the creation magic, God has also created two angels, they were twins, one was Vandersnatch, and the other was Veyrondale, the man we just met. He tasked the two angels as Guardians of Terra Forma, whereas it is their duty to keep the Nightingales who wield the creation magic in-check.”

“Ano ang ibig mong sabihin?” Naguguluhan na si Genesis. Hindi niya alam ang tungkol dito kahit na siya mismo ay nilikha ng Diyos.

“God tasked Vandersnatch and Veyrondale to watch whoever is the wielder of the creation magic, and in order for them to easily know who wields it, God set a condition that a Nightingale born with God’s Eyes will be the one they have to watch as that person will wield the creation magic. They have to make sure that the said Nightingale does not become corrupted and if there is no longer hope for that Nightingale, then that is the time that they have to take life as a last resort. God has also given these two the affinity to any magic but they have to travel around the world in order to learn and copy magic from all the magicians they meet.”

“Vandersnatch and Veyrondale were inseparable and close, but as Veyrondale was exposed to the world as they travelled to learn more magic and such, he has realized that power was everything. He met and fought many magicians and came out stronger. He became blinded with the idea that he was one of the most powerful individuals in the world and any powerful man who is born immediately becomes his rival and prey. He first challenged Vandersnatch then... A fight between the two angels.”

“What happened?”

Chapter 84

“Vandersnatch lost to Veyrondale. They were both immortal, but given the damage that Vandersnatch has taken, he hibernated for 550 years, perhaps, it was during Arthur Nightingale’s time, and Vandersnatch has woken up on King Prius Nightingale’s time. King Prius was a good friend of mine and as I was testing the limits of my power, I went out of control and accidentally teleported an entire city to a lake. King Prius helped me regain my control. Anyway, after Vandersnatch learned that Veyrondale has gone and corrupted King Prius by killing his beloved queen because he was bored, Vandersnatch and Veyrondale fought once more, but it ended as a draw... God found out about what Veyrondale has done and he turned him into a mortal as a punishment.”

“Anyway, Vandersnatch is immortal, as long as he is not killed, he will live... That was also the case for Veyrondale, until time started running for him and he has now only a limited time in the world.”

“At iyon ang rason kung bakit ginawa niyang parang laruan si Zendaya.” Halata ang inis sa mukha ni Genesis. “Because he is bored again and because he will be dead soon, so he is enjoying his last moments.”

Tumango naman si Margaux.

“Paano mo alam ang lahat ng ito?”

“Because God came to me and gave me the power I have now... The power to walk through dimensions. He made me the Gate Keeper... Whereas it is my power that brought Veyrondale and Vandersnatch into this world called Terra Forma.”

“I am created by God himself as I am the consciousness of the creation magic, but it seems like he is also playing with all of us.” Genesis said after reflecting on the series of events that happened. “Where is God now?”

“I don’t know, I tried opening the portal to heaven, but couldn’t reach it anymore. It’s like he is suddenly gone... And God doesn’t meddle with the ways of the worlds, Genesis. He only enforces the balance of nature, of good and evil, of light and dark, and those who interact with it.”

 “I don’t understand God.” Genesis sighed.

“No one ever does.” Margaux smiled.

Kasabay nito ay nagulat ang dalawa nang makita nila ang pigura ni Zendaya mula sa kadiliman ng mga haligi.

“So, this is the whole truth already.” Tears started to roll out of Zendaya’s eyes as she walked towards Genesis and Margaux, “my mother only lived for a short time after I revived her... And the same thing will happen to Shinigami.”

She heard everything that Genesis and Margaux talked about.
