In the distance, Emma could see the lights of a city twinkling in the dark. It had gotten cold again, but she didn't want to complain. Luci was pushing himself hard to get her to what he believed was safety, though honestly, Emma felt like half of her had died when they'd left Bel behind. She wasn't sure what safety felt like when only half of you remained. Part of her wondered how she and Luci would make it alone.
