Nearly a year had passed since Pam became heir officially. Pam gained an agreement with the king and queen to share the load for as long as possible, and if lucky, the boys would be old enough to take over and not her.
Each year, they each have a month off and away from the palace, so Pam, Bob, and the boys head to stay with Bethany each festive season. Bethany promised to spend the long school break with them at the palace, giving the children time to play with each other twice a year.
