After the luncheon, which went on far too long, Melony and I had a nice stroll around the gardens. It was nice to spend some quiet time with her. We had both been busy taking the next step in our roles and our future. I am pleased and a little surprised at how well we are getting along. At first, I thought it was because it was how these women were taught, that at any time, they could be paired up with someone and have to take on duties in the royal household, though what your duties might be depended on the person you are paired with. But Melony was a genuine lady, so sweet and thoughtful, nothing like some of the so-called ladies I have met since coming here.
