Lillyn woke up groggily. Her head was pounding, she could hear her girls crying, and someone making shushing noises. She opened her eyes and squinted. The room she was in was dim, a lamp’s glow was the only source of light. She got out of bed slowly, swaying on her feet. Was Koda in the next room with the girls? Where were they? The room was strange, she was sure she'd never been in it before.
She slowly walked to the open door and followed the cries her girls were making. When she stepped into what looked like a front room, she saw Dr. Marks holding the girls in his arms.
