The next morning…
Alik opened his eyes the same hour he usually woke up in the morning. He looked at the space next to him and found a pillow had replaced the warm body he usually hugged whenever he's in bed.
Elisha was not near him and nowhere inside the room. His heart sulked.
He puffed out air from his lungs and closed his eyes once again. Elisha’s actuation confirmed his suspicion that he couldn’t easily solve their problem. He had done his part to coax her and even asked to be forgiven, even if he was innocent, but she still asked for time to think about everything, and it looked like he had no choice but to give her what she asked for.
