CHAPTER FIFTY-FOUR: ADELAIDE MARCH I watched as Louisa rummaged through a wooden trunk that was in underneath the statue of Christ. “What good are weapons going to do?” I asked, bewildered by her search. She glanced over her shoulder at me sharply. “Do you want to get possessed?” “No,” I said, “but weapons---” “These weapons are blessed,” Louisa explained. “Blessed?” I could sense her frustration, but I was still new to this world of fae, magic, and monsters. I didn’t know what was going on. Louisa knew that. But she had two siblings stuck in Hell, and Ben was who knew where. “Blessed,” Louisa repeated again as if I were supposed to know exactly what that meant. “They’ve been doused in holy water.
