CHAPTER FIFTY-NINE: BEN TAYLOR
Clark Endless had been holding back. Even though he had long ago taken over the title of Faerie King, he hadn’t fully embraced his true identity as such. It seemed that admitting that what the job of a good King was involved making sacrifices for other people’s happiness, he unleashed his true power. From what Emma had told me, Oberon wasn’t just tied to faerie. He was faerie. He could make a tree grow when he wanted to. Or, he could take that same tree, and make it wither and die with a snap of his fingers.
Clark had been holding back from who he was. Resisting his role. Now that he had finally admitted the truth to himself, he was in control of not only faerie, but his own destiny. Which meant that we could now escape.
