I was in and out of consciousness for what seemed like an eternity for me, but in reality, it would have been just a few hours or so. For some reason, my entire body felt raw, as if it had been burning right over the fire. I was vaguely aware that I was covered in sweat. My muscles spasmed even when I did my best to stay still to avoid any sudden painful jolt going down my body again, but clearly, it didn't help at all. It felt excruciating that I wanted to cry. If my body was in this pain, my mind was in another. Memories came back rushing to me again.
